You now have some ideas about what type of sunscreen would work for you – hope you enjoyed last blog from ‘Get It Beauty Sunscreens Winners’.
You may have expected some other products that are raved about by beauty vloggers & youtubers such as Makep:rem, Shiseido blue bottle etc,. however those listed items are selected by ‘Get It Beauty’ show, aiming to reduce Body Burden, so I’d like to add more popular Korean sunscreens chosen by ‘Director Pi‘ – Beauty Creative Director, Vlogger & Columnist.
First of all, she has a different view about toxic(harmful) ingredients.
1. PEG
PEGs (polyethylene glycols) are petroleum-based compounds that are widely used in cosmetics as emulsifiers, surfactants, cleansing agents, and skin conditioners. They’re penetration enhancers and if used on broken skin can cause irritation and systemic toxicity.
When you look for PEGs on product labels, you’ll see that they include a number (ex. PEG-4 or PEG-80), and the number indicates their average molecular weights. The lower the number, the more easily it penetrates the skin’s layers.
2. Phenoxyethanol
Phenoxyethanol is a synthetic preservative and can cause skin & lung irritation, however the low percentage of phenoxyethanol used in cosmetic products (generally two percent or below) is safe and non-toxic.
She (Director Pi) has filtered this PEG ingredients as a harmful ingredient unlike ‘Get It Beauty’, and included Phenoxyethanol & Fragrance as non-harmful ingredients if they make the formula work better – considering its texture, feel, wear & efficiency.
<Top of Top Physical Sunscreens>

<Top of Top Chemical Sunscreens>
Unlikely physical sunscreens, most of the chemical sunscreens have a light texture, are easily spreadable and leave no white cast behind – however they are mostly formulated with ‘Avobenzone(Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) & Oxybenzone(Benzophenone-3)’ which can disrupt the hormone system, so be aware of what products containing these ingredients, especially if you have sensitive eyes like me. Many of the chemical sunscreens irritate the eyes.
1. ETUDE HOUSE UV Double Cut Sun Gel – For Combination to Oily skin types

*Conclusion:
Layering on SPF repeatedly during the day will be the best option for our skin, however in the real world it’s hard, especially over makeup.
My recommendation? Use sunscreens with higher SPF values which ensures the high protection for the longest period of time, plus good ingredients.
Thanks for reading~^^
