2018 ‘Get It Beauty’ Winners – Moisturizers

I wish this post was about ‘Facial Serum’ as we do apply serum after toning in our daily skincare routine, however this category was the first ‘Get It Beauty – Body Burden Project’ so will talk more about ‘Good Moisturizers’ today and serums later on.

*Just a reminder:
1. They(‘Get It Beauty’ show panel & operators) collect data for each product category from Korean’s most popular & have used most – 100 items including global cosmetic brands.
2. Filtered 9 harmful ingredients which commonly are used in cosmetics & body care products, and the discussion continues about these ingredients.

32 Good Moisturizers formulated without the 9 harmful ingredients

I have been thinking why most are cream type moisturizers? Haven’t got a clear answer yet however I guess ‘Emulsion(lotion, lighter texture of moisturizer)’ is more like balancing skin rather than deep moisturizing or it may shows our skincare routine gets simpler as both lotion and cream is a same moisturizer so use only the best product to suit your skin.
(Note: Emulsion can be skipped between serum and moisturizer(cream) from your routine, and layered with cream for more hydration)

*Moisturizers: Prevent and treat dry skin, improve skin tone & texture, and helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It also protects our skin from external aggressors and most importantly, moisturizer increases the water content of the skin in order to keep it hydrated.
*Types: Cream, Lotion and Ointment
Carefully choose right moisturizer depending on your skin type or environmental conditions, for example – choose a light moisturizer for day and a heavier one for night time, and lighter, hydrating moisturizers in the summer etc,.

Here are ‘Top 5 Winners’ by skin type

Although Dr. Leslie Baumann divided our skin into sixteen unique skin types, I/we are talking about 5 skin types which most commonly use in Korea.
(Oily, SooBooJi, Dry, Very Dry & Sensitive)
Unlike general information of the 5 skin types (Dry, Normal, Combination, Oily & Sensitive) here ‘Get It Beauty’ panel has categorized the above. Check out the winners.

*Here is the result showing how much the skin’s hydration level improved after applying. It’s remarkable that ‘Dry Skin’ moisturizers increase the skin’s hydration level by over 140%. Here are the final winners by skin types.

<Oily Skin with Dehydration>
This is kind of new type and talked often thesedays in Korea. Koreans call ‘Soo-Boo-Ji‘ type, meaning of oily on the outside but dry inside.
1. Acnes Moisture Cream
2. Skinfood Royal Honey Good Moisturizing Cream
3. Dr.G Barrier Activator Cream

<Oily Skin – can be included combination skintype>
1. Bonajour Green Tea Water Balm
2. Sidmool Madagascar Real Moisture Cream

<Dry Skin – can be included normal skintype>
1. Bioderma Cicabio Pommade
2. SU:M37 Waterfull Timeless Water Gel Cream

<Very Dry Skin>
1. Dermatory Allantoin Hypoallergenic Moisturizing Cream
2. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast
3. Carenology Re:Blue Ultra Repair Cream

(I guess these products are all suitable for sensitive skin(non-irritating) so believe that it wasn’t necessary to categorized.)

Well.. have found an interesting product or brand to look up?^^ This article is more about announcing ‘Good Moisturizer Lists’ however for me was a good chance to think about the moisturizing step – how to use properly and more about my skin type. For example, I use a light texture/ or one good moisturizer in day time and layer at night. Also Korean skincare products are mostly for all skin types – nowadays companies make a wider range – so haven’t thought about what product is perfect for my skin type.

Hope you enjoy this article and see you next article with the Anti-aging products – ‘Serums & Eye Creams’.

*One thing to mention, most beauty consultants I’ve met say using emulsion is great for balancing skin, and recommend using the same manufacturer/similar line of products to make a synergy effect for the healthiest skin.
